Jeffrey R. Ralston Foundation

The Department of Criminology is pleased to announce that it receives funding from the Jeffrey R. Ralston Foundation.  Established by the late Betsy Ross Ralston Brooks `49, the Jeffrey R. Ralston Foundation was created in memory of her son, Jeffrey R. Ralston, a law enforcement officer in Monmouth County, NJ, who died in 1997 at age 34.  Betsy Ross Ralston Brooks directed this Foundation to support scholarships for aspiring Law & Justice (now Criminology) students.  Upon her passing in 2000, she arranged for her entire estate to be transferred to the Jeffrey R. Ralston Foundation.

The Jeffrey R. Ralston Foundation provides support to selected Criminology majors through two programs: the Jeffrey R. Ralston Foundation Scholarship and the Jeffrey R. Ralston Foundation Crime Analytics Fellowship.  The Jeffrey R. Ralston Crime Analytics Fellows have been provided financial support to apply statistical and geospatial analyses to municipal police data under faculty supervision.  Scholarship and Fellowship recipients were selected following a competitive application process governed by the Criminology faculty.
